這是 John Squire，已解散的英國搖滾樂團 The Stone Roses（石玫瑰合唱團）與 The Seahorses（海馬樂團）的吉他手。在我那久遠之前的慘綠荳蔻青春歲月中，讓我首次意識到什麼是「guitar hero 吉他英雄」的男人。即使不再站在舞台上手上不再抱著吉他改拿起畫筆專心開畫展了還是好帥好帥好帥哦～

The Stone Roses 幾乎算是我的西洋搖滾音樂啟蒙吧。還記得十幾年前那個飄著毛毛細雨的冬天午後，閒著無聊拽著口袋裡僅剩的幾百塊錢在當時也算是西門町地標之一的「Tower Records（淘兒音樂城）」裡挖寶，剛好看到試聽機上放著這個樂團的 CD，一聽之下簡直驚為天人馬上買了回家連續狂聽她個好幾天，從此開啟了我追尋類似聲音的樂迷生涯，平均每週大概花個一兩千塊從唱片行抱回新的家庭作業，幾乎再也沒有多餘的時間和同學們每天到處吃喝玩樂趴趴走，對我那稍微有些貧乏的花漾少年少女時代裡，搖滾樂就是我的救贖，我完全懂唱片側標上面寫著 The Stone Roses 在英國紅到被稱為「青少年耶穌」是怎麼回事。我完全懂。市面上找得到的 The Stone Roses 專輯、精選輯、b-side 選輯與 live EP 也就這麼幾張，雖然有些沒有唱片代理所以每張對窮學生而言都所費不貲要吃好幾餐泡麵才存得到買得起（至少在我剛發現這個樂團的當時還沒有代理），但聽那吉他貝斯鼓的完美契合又彼此給予寬闊的發揮空間，真的太完美了。無意間 broke into the heaven，闖進了天堂，當然一定會從此樂不思蜀的啊。i love The Stone Roses!!!!



【Second Coming】專輯開場曲《Break Into Heaven》這首歌長達十一分鐘，包括前面充滿原始部落迷幻節奏的四分多鐘前奏，還有後半段六七分鐘的歌曲主體。從剛出道時第一首登上英國單曲榜的《Fool's Gold》之後，The Stone Roses 因為樂手之間琴藝高超鼓技太好默契也佳，隨時都有能力把原本也許只有三四分鐘的歌 jam 成長達七八分鐘、十幾分鐘的 extended version，在鼓手 Reni 豐富而多層次的鼓聲節奏中，貝斯手 Mani 以穩定又不失俏皮的 bassline 點綴其中支撐起整首歌的韻律架構，而 John 的吉他便綿綿不絕地穿插而出，傲然挺身不讓屌兒啷鐺極端臭屁舉手投足以不太協調的身體擺動和一雙長臂與像隻猩猩外號「King Monkey 猴子王」的主唱 Ian Brown 專美於前，沒有誰的風采會被誰搶過去，卻又都毫無保留地展現了各自的舞台魅力。我真的太愛這支樂隊了。



組團就應該達到這種完美契合的境界啊。音樂作成這樣才是完美的 band sound 啊。如果不要吵架鬧翻不要解散各自分飛就好了啊。



不小心在網路上找到 Squire 慣用的 pedals set，原來也不過就只需這些吉他效果器就能搞出這麼好聽猶如天籟的聲音。為了追上偶像的腳步，真的應該要好好練琴啊！
